Time to ride

After this last dump of snow, it looks like snowmobiling will be in full swing. The Northern Lites (Woodlands) club has  been out to groom and sign their trails. The South Interlake Snoriders (Stonewall) club has had their signs up for some time. I haven’t seen any sign of their groomer yet, but I am sure that they will be out sometime soon. These clubs are all volunteer members that do the work and they must be commended for the time that they put in.

King of the Castle

It looks like the ducks are enjoying the warmer weather too – and getting a little silly. I had just finished opening their ‘door’ so that they could come out to roam around, then I looked and here is one of the crazy critters sitting on the bale. I had to run back to the house to grab the camera because they just looked so silly. The others were crowded around below him like he was the king or something. Shortly after I clicked he did a wing flapping as if to say ‘Oh yeah baby, I still got it’.

Santa Parade

Well it was a cold, cold night but the parade still went pretty good. Apparently the spectator count was down quite a bit, but those that came out seemed to be having a good time.

Our float turned out good thanks to Dennis, Martin and Jason. They did a great job. I will posting a picture as soon as I get it uploaded. Darryl (aka Metro) eagerly became our ‘rubber ducky’ for the evening. He was most definately the hit of our float. He walked down the street high fiving all the way. A couple kids even wanted hugs.

The parade itself had a good turnout of floats – around 43.

Snow, snow and more snow

Is it just me or does it feel like it has been snowing forever? Last night the forecast was a couple cm, this morning I heard 10-15 cm. What’s up with that!! Although after watching the news we are getting off lucky. Apparently yesterday every province except Manitoba had weather warnings. I’m sure that most of you have seen and heard about
Vancouver this weekend. Montreal was shut down yesterday.

So I guess I should just suck it up and get my exercise with my friend the shovel. It could always be worse.

Santa Parade

Rubber Ducky will be putting a float into the Santa parade in Stonewall this year. It will be on Friday December 7 this year. If anyone is interested in riding on the float, wearing our duck suit or has any easy brilliant ideas for the float please let me know. Or, just come on out and watch the parade. It starts at 7:00 pm and usually runs along Main Street from Subway to Home Hardware.

Good day for kids and snowmobilers

Well it is finally here – snow!! I am a bit indifferent on the subject. I like snow but it gets a little old and by January I am done with it.

Now my girlies on the other hand – I don’t think they ever tire of the snow. They were certainly happy to see white ground this morning.

Of course anyone with a snowmobile will be raring to go now. Just a little bit more….

Love it or hate it – this is Manitoba and all.

A duck walks into a drugstore and asks the clerk “Give me some chapstick, and put it on my bill!”

They did it!!

I think that the Winnipeg Free Press summed the game up well… Oh yes (they won) Oh no (they lost Kevin Glenn). It will most definately make for a more interesting game with the Bombers and Riders in the big game. It will be quite the party in Toronto when the fans get there.

It should be quite the party here at the duck as well – especially if the Bombers do well. I suspect a lot of loud, loud cheering will be going on. I will have to see what I can come up with for Blue and gold decorations to help set the theme.
