Still swimming time…

Mother nature is giving us at least another weekend of swimming time and by the look of the 14 day trend we are still in line for the end of September pool closing. The pool temperature is still sitting at a balmy 80F. Starting today we switch over to our off season rates which means you can get a weekend of camping, swimming and fun for under $40!! (Reservations are not needed)

There will be some good homecooked food at the Warren Fall Supper which is happening this Sunday from 3-6pm at the Warren Hall. I am offering a free late checkout this weekend in case anyone wants to go into to town for supper before heading home. Or anyone that just wants to spend the afternoon relaxing is welcome to take advantage of the late checkout offer too.

Sunday is also the first Open Farm Day organized by the Manitoba Agriculture, Food and Rural Initiatives. There are approximately 35 farms that are opening their doors so that the general public can see what happens behind the scenes. http://www.gov.mb.ca/agriculture/financial/agribus/pdf/openfarm2010.pdf. We will be offering tours of our place from 10am-4pm. If you haven’t been here or heard the story, you can see how we went from a farm to a campground.

It’s that time of year when the Canada Geese start to gather in our area. Quite often throughout the day you can look up and see a flock overhead. We usually have a few that decide to stop and have a swim in our pond.  If you have never been to Oak Hammock Marsh at this time of year it is truly something to see. It is hard to imagine how many birds are around there until you see it with our own eyes. http://www.oakhammockmarsh.ca/ From the look of their website they have lots of activities going on throughout the migration. Another local hunting activity is the Stonewall 12/20 Goose Shoot which is set for Oct 1 and 2 this year. http://site.stonewallgooseshoot.com/

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore.Dream. Discover”
