Brrrrr…

It’s that time of year when the dark, cold days of winter start to get a little depressing. As I write this the little thingy on my computer is telling me that it is -32C outside. That means with the windchill it is probably really, really cold. I don’t plan to go out anytime soon to find out however. I have a couple hours before I have to set up for the Movie and at that point it is going to be a quick trip across to the Rec Building. They are saying that the temperature will climb to -3C next week. Ya right. Not that I like to be a pessimist but I won’t believe it until my little thingy on my computer tells me so.

On the upside, my countdown to camping that I posted on our Facebook page tells me that it is only 82 days until camping starts. It has been approximately 95 days since camping ended, so we are officially over half way through winter 🙂  I just hope we get past this cold snap soon and get back to the warmer more tolerable winter weather. There are at least a few people looking forward to and planning their summers. In the past week I have taken quite a few bookings for weekend camping and also for a seasonal campsite.

Another sign that summer is coming is that I got my first 2011 visitors guide yesterday. This one was put out by Tourism Winnipeg and has lots of things to do and places to see information.  I hope to get some more copies to have on hand for out of towners that stay here and want to visit Winnipeg.

It was so cold . . .
when we milked the cows, we got ice cream! When we milked the brown cows – we got chocolate ice cream!

It was so cold . . .
the dogs had to put jumper cables on the rabbits – just to get them running!

It was so cold . . .
Richard Simmons started wearing pants!

It was so cold…
everyone wanted to make antifreeze – so we hid her woolly pyjamas!

It was so cold…
we thought Grandpa had grown a goatee – but it turned out to be just an icicle of frozen drool
